Why does our eyes look red on pictures?

Your pupils are only openings into your eyes, and they are NOT black. They only appear black because of shadows. Since your eyes are filled with blood vessels, they are really red. The flash shines diectly into the eyes on cheap cameras, blocks the shadows in your pupils, and the camera takes a picture of your blood vessels.

On more expensive cameras, the angle of the flash shines away from the eyes.

On other camera's there is a preflash...which constricts your pupils....so once the picture is taken, your pupils are tiny. Why does our eyes look red on pictures?
When you take the picture, the flash (a little red light) goes in our eyes and makes it red too. Some cameras don't show that though. Why does our eyes look red on pictures?
its not because of the flash u have to turn off the orangish redish light when taking a picture in a normal digital camera u can find it on the screen and change it
because of the flash
';safe forever'; is right, the flash does reflect off of our retinas.

It also happens to animals such as dogs, cats, deer.....

I hope this website helps you that was a good question, and I learned alot from this page!!!
