right basicly i just got some rats not to long ago, i went out baught loads wooden treats so they could knaw on them ect
but they just left them alone!
(i left them in there)
now im worried i dont want their teeth getting too long!
so will i have to take them too the vets?
also she had it when i got her, one has a crusty eye!
its like half open like in the morning when your eyes stuck together kinda thing! i clean it off with pet wipes
but i was wonding if it could be anything i should worry about?its not got any puss coming from it
and they do fight (play fight) but recently they went a little too far and they have little wounds all over them (tho they are healing well!) cos i thought might be a stress thing or she might have a cold!
and they are all very happy rats apart from that! One of my rats has a crusty eye! and how do i look after their teeth?
You should pay close attention to the eye discharge, it can be a sign of illness. If she is still behaving normally, and eating then just watch carefully. If it seems like she's having trouble breathing, is sneezing, or is washing her face a lot you should take her to a veterinarian. Also, if the eye discharge continues for a few days she should go in.
Make sure they get plenty of crunchy foods. You should feed a lab block, and not a seed based diet. This can help keep their teeth healthy. Providing lots of chews can help too.

He could have an eye infection..you can use an eye ointment you could find in a pet store if it dosn't clear up.It could just be eritated by bedding. I don't think it needs vet attention. As for the teeth put things for them to chew on in there and they will be fine.
Don't worry about the crusty eye, it's just a sleepy. Give them toilet paper rolls to chew on or sticks, blocks of woods, etc.
