Why do I always look cock-eyed in pictures, especially if its taken at an angle?

There may be several reasons.

Have you ever seen a photo of Shaquille O'Neal looking straight at the camera? His eyes often look like they are crossed. In O'Neal's case this is an optical illusion caused by his nose having a wide bridge.

Because the eyes are apart, they must each look at the same object slightly differently. The dominant eye looks directly at the object. The non-dominant eye looks at the same object, but at an angle. It may be that your eyes are both looking at the camera, but the different angle is more pronounces in a photo.

You can learn about eye dominance at:

You may want to try taking photos of you with the head and camera at the same position, but move the eyes. Then take photos with the camera in the same position but move the head while keeping the eyes on the camera. Do this left side and right side.

Also, do this looking up at the camera (head down) and looking down at the camera (head up) to see the changes.

You will probably find an angle that looks best. Why do I always look cock-eyed in pictures, especially if its taken at an angle?
Maybe you have a birth defect like me. I have a neck muscle that is shorter on one side than the other thus pulling my head over to one side slightly.
